Increasing Inquiry and Empathy with Virtual Reality
I am leading the collaboration and integration of virtual reality and augmented reality into teaching and learning at American School of Bombay Elementary.

During our VR expedition, explorers reflected on their "travels" with the Visible Thinking routine,"See, Think, Wonder".

To be successful in the 21st Century, our students need to move from "consumers to producers".
This video is of an "AR and VR Playdate" I developed through collaboration. More than 200 students, parents and teachers explored AND created augmented and virtual realities. In this picture, a Third Grade coder is coding a virtual reality scene from a book he read. Next, he scanned a QR code he created, allowing him to travel in his VR world.

I lead parent talks as well as workshops for teachers on AR and VR in education.
This video shows an AR introduction during a "Science Morning" - a time I lead a hands-on STEAM activity for students and parents to explore on their way to class in the morning. Ongoing "Science Mornings" have greatly increased the STEAM presence at ASB. |

This video show scientists using an augmented reality sandbox to investigate the impacts of the water cycle on where people live.
I guided the building of this AR Sandbox by collaborating with many talented people at ASB. It is now used in Pre-K -5 in many creative and authentic, cross-curricular integrations. |
